Chokes

The choke is an induction coil, which usually has a magnetic core. It prevents rapid changes in electric current and also limits alternating current without loss of power. They are used in the supply systems of discharge lamps, in voltage converters and in the input circuits of electronic systems powered by the power grid. Mains filters prevent high-frequency signals from the AC power supply to the device and high-frequency signals from entering the device's power cord.
